Dreams of Green

White was the clouds,

Green was the sea,

Listening to the loud

Waves touch the trees.

Five wild swallows bowed,

Each one flying free,

Floating above the ground,

Coasting past me.

Now eight o’clock rolls around,

As I dampen my feet,

I try not to frown,

For what I am about to meet.

I must find the nest,

Some may call me an Eco-freak,

The birds are the best,

And their eggs are so unique.

In leaves they are dressed,

So verdant, so sleek,

In grass, they are caressed,

Suddenly, I see a beak!

The egg cracked, I assessed,

And out came a meek,

Beautiful light-green colored

Chick, to match with the sea.
